Looks like we are going to have a fun ride!
I headed out at 12:30 Thursday with Jeff. Straight ride to Brady.
Arrival at the Best Western in Brady.
Mi Familia for dinner. Jeff looks mesmerized by the great Mexican food!
12 for dinner. Rex wanted the picture taken like this!
Our first break on Friday in Sonora.
Yours truly!
Rex, Sheryl, and Gary with Tamara trying a photo bomb!
Lunch was in Sanderson at the Eagles Nest Cafe. Same place we stopped in 2012.
Fast service and a great burger.
The Big Bend Brewing Company in Alpine Texas makes Tejas Lager. Great way to follow up a great ride!
The Hotel Limpia in Ft Davis.
The group hanging out after the great ride to Ft Davis.
The Ft Davis Drugstore for dinner.
The Ft Davis Drugstore Menu.
The top of the McDonald Observatory.
Great view from the lodge in the basin.
Ditto from Friday afternoon!
It was actually snowing on Sunday morning.
A guy came down from the McDonald Observatory and told there was 7-8" of snow up there.
Late Sunday afternoon Randy and I decided to make the 34 mile round trip to the observatory and back. Still some snow on the ground but the roads were fine. I got a chance to ride Randy's new GSA on the way back to town. That is awesome!
Jeff photo-bombing Grady, Carroll, Diane and Lynda.
...until I got a rear tire flat. Quick pit-stop and 500+ miles home without a loss of air on the plugging job.
Florene Miller Watson passed away in February of this year. I stop by the Big Lake Airport to take a picture when I am in the area. She was quite a lady.
A nice ride. Great times with our great friends!
Does not look bad for 500+ miles. The plug held quite well.
We saw a lot of cattle in the road between Sonora and Comstock.
